Sunday School - Children
SUNDAY SCHOOL 2009-2010
The Christian Education team is excited to offer a new year of Sunday School opportunities for our children that will compliment our new Sunday worship schedule.
Our children’s Sunday school schedule will be similar to last year. We will offer “Kid’s Own Worship” at the 9:00 service and “Exploring Faith” - a traditional Sunday school at the 10:45 service (see below for more details about these exciting programs.) The children will gather in the Sanctuary for both services and participate in worship through the children’s message and then be dismissed for Sunday school. This gives the children an opportunity to experience worship and then hear stories and messages of the Bible that are appropriate to the children’s level of learning. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month, we will offer "Kids In Action" (KIA), a mid-week program that offers an activity centered lesson that coordinates with the Sunday message.
CUMC has identified Children’s Education as a priority in the life of this congregation. In order to have a successful Sunday School program we need to have a dedicated group of teachers. In addition, we are looking for a dedicated individual to act as Sunday School Superintendent. I am sure that most of you can identify and remember with fondness a Sunday school teacher in your youth. We want that same experience for our children. Last year we had a group of dedicated teachers, many of whom taught EVERY Sunday. We need to have more teachers in order to accomplish that goal. The curriculum we are using is teacher-friendly and outline lessons well. Please prayerfully consider offering your time to make a difference in the lives of the children of this congregation.

9:00 a.m. - "Kid's Own Worship"
Touching the heart of God, changing the hearts of kids! At Kids Own Worship kids discover characteristics of God like "Jesus hears us", "Jesus loves us" -- and many other reasons why God is worthy of our praise. Each week, preschool and elementary children focus on God in a personal way, and experience worship through fun songs and memorable Bible learning.
10:45 a.m. - "Exploring Faith"
This program is four year Bible study for Sunday School that enables children to experience God through Jesus Christ. Children, and the adults who live and work with them, will experience together in Christian community, the stories and messages of the Bible appropriate to the children's increasing maturity through lessons that provide opportunities for discussion and ideas for activities.
